Welcome to the NCFM, LA web site.
Mission Statement:
NCFM’s Los Angeles chapter, as part of a global men’s movement for gender equality, raises awareness about and combats sexism against men in family courts, domestic violence policies, criminal sentencing, military conscription, media, education, public health policies and other areas, using public speaking, media, lawsuits, legislative advocacy, rallies, tabling and other activism tools.
Who We Are / Are Not:
| We Are Not: | We Are: |
|---|---|
| Politically left or right | We are a nonpartisan organization consisting of Democrats, Republicans, Green Party members, Libertarians, etc. We do not address left/right politics or identify with any political party. |
| Pro or anti-gay | We are concerned about the equal rights of all men and boys regardless of their race, religion or sexuality. We do not address sexual orientation or gender identity. |
| Anti-woman | We respect all people regardless of sex. We believe both sexes are equally capable of good and bad. We appreciate the many women who support men’s equal rights. |
| A family law organization | We focus on activism, not direct services. But we do provide referrals and moral support, and we sometimes provide limited court advocacy and emergency transportation to a battered men’s shelter. |
| A support group | We provide a framework for transforming grief into positive activism. Many find this more therapeutic than a support group. |
